In the educational philosophy of Ba Ria – Vung Tau University (BVU), the concept of “learning by doing” has never been merely a slogan. It is brought to life through the Enterprise Semester – a distinctive program that is both challenging and a source of pride.

Instead of spending their time only in theoretical classes, students of the 2023 cohort from the Faculty of Business Administration and Law will have three full months to live, work, and contribute at leading enterprises. In this environment, they are no longer simply “learners,” but actual personnel who take responsibility for their work and create value for the organization.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Ph.D. Candidate, M.A. Trinh Dinh Cuong, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Law, delivered the opening remarks and shared heartfelt words:

“The world out there does not operate according to lesson plans. It runs on discipline, pressure, and opportunities reserved only for those who are ready. Today, we hand you over to the enterprises, but we are also entrusting them with the Faculty’s greatest hopes. Do not be afraid of making mistakes; be afraid of not having the courage to begin.”

Next, Dr. Nguyen Thi Duc Loan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Law, presented the content of the Enterprise Semester so that students could clearly understand its requirements and expected outcomes. Their performance will be evaluated by both the internship enterprises and the Faculty; therefore, this is a semester that is both demanding and meaningful, as well as a valuable period for students to demonstrate their growth and maturity.

Also attending the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang, President of the University, delivered remarks of guidance, orientation, and congratulations to the students. At the same time, he expressed sincere appreciation to the partner enterprises for accompanying the University in enhancing training quality and opening up more practical opportunities for students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang delivered remarks at the ceremony, expressed appreciation to the partner enterprises, congratulated the students, and provided guidance and direction.

The most remarkable highlight of the ceremony was the presence of senior leaders from dozens of enterprises, banks, and prestigious law offices. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), held right on stage, served as clear evidence of the strong confidence that the labor market places in BVU’s training quality.

From major financial institutions to reputable law firms, all have joined hands to create a solid launching pad for students. The list of partner organizations signing cooperation agreements includes:

  • The Coast Co., Ltd. (The Coast Hotel)
  • Vikki Digital Bank – Vung Tau Branch
  • New Key Law Firm Co., Ltd.
  • VN72 One Member Law Firm Co., Ltd.
  • Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) – Vung Tau Branch

Dreams Empowered Through Scholarships

A particularly moving moment of the event was when representatives of Vikki Digital Bank presented scholarships worth VND 30 million to outstanding students and those who have shown remarkable perseverance in overcoming difficulties. This was not merely financial support, but also a meaningful recognition of the students’ continuous efforts throughout their academic journey. At the same time, it reflected the enterprise’s trust and commitment to accompanying the University, helping to sow promising seeds for the future.

Mr. Dao Hoang Phuong, Director of Vikki Digital Bank – Vung Tau Branch, shared that what he expects from these “newcomers” from the Faculty of Business Administration and Law during this internship is sharp thinking, the ability to apply technology, and, most importantly, a progressive and eager-to-leach attitude. BVU students have a very strong advantage in their dynamism and quick adaptability. I hope that after these three months, many of you sitting here today will officially become our colleagues.

This is an extremely practical step. Giving students the opportunity to work full-time in a professional environment before graduation helps them completely eliminate the cultural shock of entering the workplace after officially graduating. It is the fastest way to narrow the gap between education and labor market demands.

Meeting Nguyen Hai Hieu Hanh, an Accounting student and one of the outstanding scholarship recipients, she shared her joy:

“Receiving a scholarship from Vikki Digital Bank today came as a wonderful surprise to me. It is not only financial support, but also a great source of encouragement and recognition for my academic efforts. It also motivates us to continue striving, improving our skills, and developing ourselves in the future.

What excites me even more is the opportunity to meet enterprise managers directly at the University. Through the practical insights shared by the speakers, students can better understand the working environment, the skills required, and the expectations of employers. I believe the next three months will be a truly transformative period for every student.”

Student Nguyen Hai Hieu Hanh raised a question during the exchange session with the guest speakers.

The panel discussion on “The Enterprise Semester and Career Opportunities” truly became an open dialogue. The lively and vibrant atmosphere in the hall showed that the barriers between “bosses” and “future employees” had been removed.

The guest speakers — judges, lawyers, and executives — did not hesitate to share stories about their early failures, the hidden sides of their professions, and even the seemingly small soft skills that ultimately determine success or failure.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of B.A.C Accounting Services Co., Ltd., is one of the close and valued speakers of BVU and the Faculty of Business Administration and Law. He encouraged students during their internships to ask as many questions as possible, to dare to ask, and to dare to make mistakes in order to improve. He especially emphasized the importance of always remaining humble, observant, and eager to learn so as to enhance one’s skills and knowledge, and to always remember that “attitude matters more than aptitude” in order to earn high appreciation from enterprises.

Students who raised insightful questions to the employers received valuable gifts sponsored by Fubon Vietnam Life Insurance Company – Vung Tau Branch.

All of the challenging questions raised by the students were answered through hard-earned real-life experiences, helping them gain a clearer vision of the path they have chosen. Through this warm and engaging exchange, students could truly feel the close connection between the younger generation and the senior professionals who are willing to guide and support them as they take their first steps into life and begin their journey into the professional workplace.
