On the morning of September 30, 2026, at Campus 3 of Ba Ria – Vung Tau University (BVU), the panel discussion titled “Partnering with Students: Industry Insights for the Faculty of Business Administration & Law 2026” took place in an energetic and inspiring atmosphere. Organized as part of the “Introduction to the Major” orientation course, the event brought together 14 leading regional enterprises, building a direct bridge between the classroom and the real-world marketplace.
Industry veterans and executives offered more than 300 freshmen a vivid, grounded look at career opportunities and labor market realities in the digital era.
Starting in the Classroom, Preparing for the Future
Opening the event, Mr. Trinh Dinh Cuong (Ph.D. Candidate, M.A.), Vice Dean in charge of the Faculty of Business Administration & Law, emphasized that stepping into college marks the beginning of taking ownership of one’s career path. The program was designed to ease freshmen into university life and provide direct exposure to industry recruitment standards and workplace culture.
Mr. Cuong encouraged the incoming Class of 2026 to treat college as an incubator: actively listening, asking questions, embracing continuous self-learning, and cultivating professional experience from their very first semester rather than waiting until their senior internships.

The Panel Discussion: Decoding the “Language of Business” Across Industries
The centerpiece of the event was an in-depth dialogue between students and industry executives. Moderated by Mr. Cuong, the panel tackled practical questions and addressed freshmen’s top concerns. Rather than dodging tough topics such as job competition and digital disruption, the panelists broke down professional realities with candid, practical takeaways.
In finance, Mr. Nguyen Huy Bang, Branch Director of Rong Viet Securities (Vung Tau Branch), broadened students’ perspectives on careers in the securities sector. Beyond investment analysts, financial firms actively recruit across accounting, banking, management, and marketing/communications. Mr. Bang noted that accounting students hold a distinct edge thanks to their ability to interpret the “language of business” through financial statements. Opportunities are open to all majors, provided students proactively pursue professional certifications and cultivate adaptability.
Challenging common misconceptions about Business Administration degrees, Mr. Pham Ba Phuc, Commercial Director at DIC Group, noted that the major offers a wide career runway, spanning supply chain operations, logistics, marketing, HR, and project management. Drawing on his own varied career path before reaching executive leadership, Mr. Phuc advised: “A career path is never a straight line. Majoring in business administration doesn’t mean you graduate straight into a management role. What matters is pinpointing your passions, deepening your core competencies, and putting in the work from entry-level positions upward.”
Addressing Banking and Finance, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Branch Director of Bac A Bank (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Branch), spoke candidly about the impact of automation. As technology reduces the need for front-counter tellers, talent demand has shifted heavily toward retail and corporate relationship management. Regional bank branches actively seek candidates not only from banking majors, but also from Business Administration, Finance, and Law who bring strong communication skills, sharp negotiation instincts, and business acumen.
From a legal perspective, Dr. Nguyen Quang Long, Director of Quang Hung Trading & Service Co., Ltd. and legal practitioner, highlighted the broad versatility of a law degree. Because the law governs virtually every aspect of commercial and civic life, legal careers extend well beyond courtroom litigation to in-house corporate counsel, contract advisory, commercial risk assessment, and public administration. A legal background serves as a strategic framework for anyone aiming to advance in business.
Addressing the rise of generative AI, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, Managing Director of Ocean Sunrise Hotel and Deputy Director of the Grand Palace Rex Hotel Cluster, offered practical advice for communications students: “An exceptional communicator must be empathetic, stepping into the customer’s shoes to create content that genuinely connects.” She urged incoming students to build hands-on fluency with video, creative tools, and AI from year one, while cautioning them not to lose sight of what truly matters: real-world perspective and authentic human creativity.

Corporate Scholarships: Fueling Ambition and Rewarding Grit
Beyond career guidance, partner enterprises offered direct support through merit and need-based scholarships.
Rong Viet Securities (Vung Tau Branch) awarded four scholarships totaling VND 20 million to outstanding students in Business Administration, Marketing, and Accounting:
- Vo Thi Ngoc Lan – Business Administration
- Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Business Administration
- Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu – Marketing
- Le Thi Thu Thao – Accounting

Additionally, BIDV (Vung Tau – Con Dao Branch) presented ten scholarships (VND 1 million each) to encourage incoming students who have overcome personal hardships: Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Anh, Dang Thi Phuong Vy, Ngo Xuan An, Pham Thi Nhu Y, Nguyen Thi Bich Hanh, Nguyen Nhat Trinh, Nguyen Tan Huy Hoang, Bui Le Gia Han, Nguyen Nam Khanh, and Nguyen Tu Trinh.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, student Vo Thi Ngoc Lan expressed sincere gratitude to the university, faculty leadership, and corporate sponsors for both their financial and moral support, noting that the recognition serves as a strong motivator to push harder in their academic and personal development.

The event wrapped up with interactive trivia games testing students’ knowledge of BVU and core financial concepts, with students taking home gifts from sponsor companies. Finance enthusiasts also signed up for the 4th season of the nationwide investment competition “AI Picks the Stocks—Are You Ready to Invest?”, hosted by Rong Viet Securities.
The day concluded with group photos and networking. Far more than a standard introductory lecture, the event served as a practical launchpad, equipping BVU’s Class of 2026 Faculty of Business Administration & Law with the mindset, perspective, and confidence to navigate their future careers.
