Brand Recognition

Logo and its Significance

As a university of the rich and powerful sea in the South of the country, BVU built its logo based on visual elements associated with the academic, historical and geographical aspects of Ba Ria Vung Tau province; and the images are the scallop, the lighthouse and the book, with the Greek transliteration: “Ephphatha” which means “Be opened”.

Shield – a sign of bravery, equilibrium, and stability.

– In the field of education, the shield symbolizes historic and international ideals.

– It represents the noble character that every member of the BVU family requires.

– It demonstrates the steadfast position of a reputable and high-quality university.

The scallop is the patron saint of Saint Jacques, the former historical name for Ba Ria Vung Tau. At the same time, it is a sign of prosperity and the wealth of maritime resources.

The lighthouse has long been a symbol of the land of Cap Saint Jacques, and it is also a symbol of the province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau today, guiding and illuminating students to a “prosperous shore”.

The open book represents the wealth of human knowledge. How many excellent things await the learner in the treasure chest of human knowledge? That is the phrase that encourages students to passionately embark on the path of study. The binary sequence on the open book is the cornerstone of the next generation of information technology. The junction of traditional and contemporary education is represented by the combination of the two symbols above.

EPHPHATHA,” which means “be opened”, also refers to the educational concept of Liberation. Willing to alter the old in favor of the new, to go forward, to integrate, to develop, and to succeed.

– Be willing to think and learn.

– Be willing to open heart to love and serve

– Be willing to work with open arms

– Be willing to open eyes to broaden perspective and reach the peak of life.

– Corresponding to Liberal Education and Humanity philosophy of the Nguyen Hoang Group.

The laurel wreath: a symbol of glory and victory, is the target of BVU’s executive board, administrators, lecturers as well as students.

The banderole “BVU” has two primary colors: Navy Blue (the color of the sea – blue) and Golden Stars (yellow of the stars).

“Baria – Vungtau University – Cap Saint Jacques”

BVU carries within it the mission of liberation, upholds the inherent quintessential values, demonstrates its strength, sustainability and affirms its position in the Vietnamese education system integrating into the world.
