On the morning of May 25, 2023, Ba Ria – Vung Tau University held the 5th Congress of the Trade Union at Ba Ria – Vung Tau University for the 2023-2028 term.
With the participation of invited delegates: Dr. Vu Thi Ngoc, Head of the Southern Office of the Vietnam Education Trade Union; Mrs. Pham Thi Ngoc Oanh, staff member of the Southern Office of the Vietnam Education Trade Union.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoai Phuong – Rector of the University; MS. Le Van Toan – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – in charge of the Office of Student Affairs; Master Nguyen Quang Thai – Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union, 4th term of 2017-2023, along with 166 trade union members of the university, attended the congress.
The Congress conducted the following main contents: Election of the Union Chairman, Secretariate, and the Examination Committee; Reporting on the results of the examination of the delegates’ qualifications to attend the Congress; Reporting on the summary of the Trade Union’s work, 4th term (2017-2023), and The directions for the 5th term (2023-2028); Reporting on the review by the Executive Board of the 4th term Trade Union; Discussion on the Congress documents; Presentation and clarification of delegates’ opinions on the activities of the university’s Trade Union.
Speaking at the Congress, Dr. Vu Thi Ngoc, Head of the Southern Office of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, highly praised the sense of responsibility and recognized the achievements of the Trade Union of Ba Ria – Vung Tau University in the previous term. At the same time, she proposed that the new Executive Board inherit the results and achievements that have been attained, actively innovate the content and methods of operation, focus on developing the Union unit, take care to improve the living standards of union members, and build a strong trade union unit…
On behalf of the university’s Party Committee and the University’s Executive Board, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoai Phuong – Rector of the University acknowledged and commended the outstanding results achieved by the Trade Union of the University in the previous term. She also proposed that the new term’s Executive Board, together with all officials, union members, and workers, actively participate with the university’s leadership in effectively fulfilling the university’s political tasks. At the same time, the Trade Union of the University needs to effectively implement various regimes, policies, and be a solid support for union members and staff of the University…
The Congress conducted a report summarizing the activities of the Trade Union at Ba Ria – Vung Tau University in the previous term. Throughout the term, the Trade Union of the University has continuously strived and achieved certain accomplishments, such as effectively taking care of the living conditions of the Union members, fulfilling the representative function, and safeguarding the rights and legitimate interests of officials and employees, while also completing the tasks set by the higher-level Trade Union. The Executive Board also set the direction for the 2023-2028 term. In addition to maintaining the achieved results and addressing existing limitations, the upcoming Executive Board will focus on improving the quality of union activities and the union’s staff, renewing the content and methods of operation, and together with the Party Committee and the University’s Executive Board, building a developing and strong university.
The Congress conducted voting and elected 11 members to participate in the Executive Board of the Trade Union, 5th term (2023-2028). The Congress also conducted voting and elected delegates to attend the 16th Congress of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, including 2 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.
To acknowledge the achievements during the 2017-2023 term, the Vietnam Education Trade Union and the Rector of Ba Ria – Vung Tau University decided to award Certificates of Commendation to groups and individuals with outstanding contributions to trade union activities.
The Congress of the Delegates of the Trade Union at Ba Ria – Vung Tau University, 2023-2028 term, was successfully held, and the upcoming 2023-2028 term, brings new breakthrough expectations. The Executive Board of the Trade Union at Ba Ria – Vung Tau University deserves to be the leading unit in trade union activities.
