On the morning of September 5, 2026, joining the festive spirit of the nationwide back-to-school season, Ba Ria – Vung Tau University (BVU) solemnly held its Opening Convocation Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year at the Campus 2 Auditorium.
A Vibrant Kickoff Radiating Youthful Energy
The ceremony opened with dynamic musical and artistic performances presented by the BVU Youth Union and Student Association, filling the auditorium with youthful exuberance for the start of the school year.
The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang, President of BVU; Dr. Le Quang Thanh, Vice President; department and faculty leadership; and the entire faculty and staff community. Most notably, the presence of student council representatives from the Classes of 2023, 2024, and 2025, alongside incoming freshmen of the Class of 2026, brought vibrant energy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
Joining the Nationwide Back-to-School Celebration
Sharing the celebratory momentum with more than 26 million students across Vietnam, BVU faculty and students connected via live stream to the National Academic Year 2026–2027 Opening Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Education and Training from its central broadcast hub at Muong Khuong Ethnic Minority Boarding School (Lao Cai Province).
Promptly at 7:30 AM, all delegates, faculty members, and students stood for the flag-raising ceremony, sang the National Anthem in unison, and joined the ceremonial back-to-school drumbeat echoing across the country. The national event also commemorated the inauguration of new multi-level boarding schools across mainland border communes.
During the broadcast, State and Party leaders extended their best wishes to the entire education sector for the new academic year, emphasizing that 2026–2027 marks a pivotal year for mindset innovation, substantive quality enhancement, and the holistic development of student competence and character to drive rapid, sustainable national development.
Stepping Confidently into a New Chapter
Following the national broadcast, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang delivered his welcome address, outlining strategic priorities and expressing full confidence in the faculty and student body. President Hoang underscored key institutional pillars: driving innovation and creativity, elevating academic excellence, and accelerating university-wide digital transformation.
Addressing the student body, President Hoang emphasized that the university lecture hall serves as a crucible for character building, global integration skills, and critical thinking. He encouraged students to take initiative in scientific research, actively participate in student clubs and extracurricular organizations, embrace challenges, and maintain a lifelong thirst for learning. At the same time, he called on the faculty to continually modernize their teaching methodologies and remain trusted mentors guiding future generations.
