Welcome the Mayor of Padang City, Mr. Mahyeldi Ansharullah to Ba Ria-Vung Tau University

On the afternoon of July 13, 2019, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University honored to welcome the Mayor of Padang City (Indonesia) Mr. Mahyeldi Ansharullah and representatives of the Departments and the universities of Padang City to visit and work.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and Padang City have established relationships since 2012. On May 31, 2016, in Padang City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee and Padang City Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish cooperation and partnerships between the two localities. These are the first two localities of Vietnam and Indonesia sign a cooperation agreement based on cultural similarities, potential areas of cooperation, especially in the exploitation of aquatic products, agriculture and tourism. Following that, on August 7, 2016, at Blok III Pasar Raya Padang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Trade Center was officially inaugurated to promote cooperation between countries in the South East Asia region, Padang people in particular can use goods from Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This event also shows that the Government between the two sides is actively trying to promote the potential, strengths and images of the country, people and products of each locality.
During this trip in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the Mayor attended the inauguration of the City's Trade Promotion Gallery. Padang City (Indonesia) at No. 8, Tran Hung Dao, Vung Tau City is organized by the Provincial People's Committee to introduce the potentials, economics, tourism and culture of the two localities, meanwhile supporting trade promotion, seeking partners, providing information and consuming export products in West Sumatra province - Indonesia and vice versa.
Padang city is the capital of West Sumatra province, Indonesia with a population of about 1 million people with an area of 690 km2. The city has 22 islands and 21 rivers. Padang City has 3 public universities and more than 40 educational institutions. Padang University is one of three public universities in Padang City with 8 faculties and 15 training disciplines. The university is ranked A according to quality inspection standards in Indonesia. Annually, the university offers 45 scholarships for international students and free dormitories for international students. In September 2020, Padang University will hold an International Conference on Tourism and is expected to hold 22 international conferences in 2020.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University, Vice President Dr. Vu Van Dong expressed his desire to create a cooperative relationship with Padang University for training in Hospitality Management, Economics and Indonesian Languages. In addition, the two sides can co-organize international conferences.
At the end of the meeting, both sides gave souvenirs and expected to continue to exchange training cooperation and scientific research in the near future.
