On the morning of October 1, 2018, the representative of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University attended the "Meeting between Heads of the International Cooperation Departments of Taiwanese and Vietnamese Universities in 2018" in Ho Chi Minh City to promote educational cooperations.
In order to promote the educational cooperation as well as to develop exchanges between Taiwanese and Vietnamese universities, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh city held the "Meeting between Heads of the International Cooperation Departments of Taiwanese and Vietnamese Universities in 2018" on October 1, 2018 at Windsor Plaza Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. During the meeting, 25 representatives from 22 universities in Taiwan and 46 representatives from 37 universities in Vietnam discussed ways to promote the educational cooperation and relationship among them. The meeting was conducted in English language. At the meeting, representatives of these universities listened to the welcome speech by Ms. Tsui Fen Chang, Vice President of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, and the introduction by Ms. Ou Qui Hsi, Head of Education, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, about studying in Taiwan, the program of dispatching Chinese lecturers in Vietnam as well as some short-term training programs (2 weeks) for Vietnamese students and lecturers in Taiwan.

The representative from Ba Ria - Vung Tau University, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Van (M.A.), Deputy Manager of Science & Technology - International Cooperation Department attended and expanded their links with universities in Taiwan to promote cooperation in joint-training programs, exchanges of lecturers and students, short-term training and exchange, etc. Each year, the Taiwanese Ministry of Education offers funds for Taiwanese universities to host Summer Camps and Winter Camps for students from Vietnamese universities to study in two weeks, covering all costs of tuition, travelling, accommodation, and students only pay air tickets and visa costs. This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese students in general and Ba Ria-Vung Tau University students in particular to improve their ability in Chinese language and to learn more about this beautiful and developed country. In addition, the demand for Vietnamese language teaching in Taiwan for children born to Vietnamese mother-in-law in Taiwan is enormous. It is estimated that about 79,000 students are children of 100,000 Vietnamese brides in Taiwan and this is the largest foreign bride community in Taiwan. Therefore, since 2019, the Taiwanese Ministry of Education will revise curriculum and carry out Vietnamese language teaching from primary to high schools. Vietnamese teachers can teach Vietnamese language as part of their exchange program. In November 2018, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University will welcome one Taiwanese teacher to teach Chinese language for one year. With this support, students of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University will quickly improve their ability in Chinese through communication with the native teacher.
