Cultural exchange program between Ba Ria – Vung Tau University and Seattle University

In order to create more opportunities for exchanges between students of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University and the University of Seattle (USA), as well as we hope to have the chance to improve BVU student's communication skill with native speakers, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University organized cultural exchange program with the University of Seattle.


On 13th July 2018, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University is pleased to welcome professors, lecturers and students from the University of Seattle (USA) to join the cultural exchange program with lecturers and students of BVU.


City University of Seattle, founded in 1973 in Seattle, Washington, is one of the largest non-profit private universities in the Northwest. At present, the university attracts more than 300 international students to study in clean and safe environment with many beautiful landscapes and highly quality teaching. The university's curriculum has been accredited by the Northwestern Association of Colleges of the Northwest (NWCCU) since 1978. Its business university programs are also accredited by the International Association for College Business Education (IACBE). City University of Seattle also supports services for international students such as: enrollment, accommodation, guidance on arrival, student activities, immigration, etc.

Attending the program, on behalf of Nguyen Hoang Group is Professor Do Manh Cuong - Chairman of the Board of Education and Prof. Le Xuan Hy - Advisory Board of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. On the side of Seattle University, we are pleased to welcome the presence of Professor Le Quan Vu and 5 students of the University. Representative of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University is Dr. Vu Van Dong - Vice President and the presence of lecturers and students of School of Languages – Cultures – Arts.


The program includes exchange activities, learning about Vietnamese culture such as performing folk dance, the Ao Dai show performed by the students of BVU choreographers and performers. There are also activities involved in folk games "Bamboo dancing". The lecturers and students of two universities are very excited to participate in this game. The bamboo dancing has stirred the room and the atmosphere is more exciting. After completing the exchange program, two universities together enter the introducing Vietnamese cuisine program. Seattle University students are learned how to make spring roll - one of the traditional dishes of the Vietnamese people. They are very interested in the food exchange. The afternoon of the day is time for visiting the beautiful coastal of Vung Tau City. The students of BVU are the enthusiastic guides leading American students to visit the famous scenic spots in Vung Tau City.


Cultural exchange program closed, leaving many good impression of international students on BVU as well as the beautiful coastal city of Vung Tau. Hopefully, in the upcoming time, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University will have more opportunities to cooperate and organize interesting programs for all students of both universities.

Lectures and students of two universities take photo


On July 19, Professor Le Xuan Hy will visit Ba Ria – Vung Tau University once again. During this visit, BVU together with Prof. Hy will organize a talkshow to share the experiences of posting international articles for faculty members, create the opportunity for scientific researches of BVU lecturers is known by international friends, bringing BVU closer to the prestige rankings of universities in the world. It is hoped that this talkshow will attract the presence of a large number of BVU lecturers.
