Ba Ria-Vung Tau University officially offers a new Bachelor program in Laws

In July 2019, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) was officially approved to offer the bachelor of law program with the major code 7380101 by the Minister of Education and Training. BVU has started to enroll students in the school year 2019-2020. This major attracts the attention of many students today. On the occasion of preparing for the new school year, we had an interview with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cuu Viet - Head of Law Department, School of Management-Business, BVU. Below is the content of interview:
Reporter: As I know that BVU has just been approved to enroll students in the Law major by the Ministry of Education and Training, can you briefly introduce this new major?
Assoc.Prof Nguyen Cuu Viet: The Law major of BVU began to enroll students in 2019, the training program consists of 120 credits, studied for 3.5 years, and the entrance is based on the common standards of university. Students who graduates will receive "Bachelor of Laws" degree. This degree will help you open many career doors in the future.
Reporter: You are one of the leading law experts in Vietnam, as the chair of the Law Major for BVU, how do you evaluate the need for human resources of Law for the labor market today and in the future?
Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Cuu Viet: Currently, Vietnam in general and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in particular, there is a shortage of legal experts. With the growing trend of integration economy, domestic enterprises are growing, foreign enterprises are investing more and more, inevitably the demand for law-qualified personnel will play an important role. Currently, the human resources of "Bachelor of Laws" is also very diverse, however, has not met the demand for high quality human resources. Law major is considered as one of the promising major, open more job opportunities, professional working environment, high salaries, and good promotion. Overall, it is a very interesting and worthwhile major of study!
Reporter: As I know that there are many universities training major of law, so what are the advantages of Law at BVU?
Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Cuu Viet: Although the Law major at BVU is quite new, we appreciate the current market demand for this major. Therefore, when developing the training program, we have grasped the trend of "internationalizing the program". Besides, in addition to good professional knowledge, students who graduates law major at BVU have been trained many skills when they were in the university such as: rhetoric and litigation skills, legal consultancy skills, negotiation, drafting and signing skills, dispute resolution skills ... At the same time, students are equipped with sufficient knowledge of foreign languages, information technology, soft skills to be ready to exposed into the labor market. I think that these goals of BVU will make a difference for students who receive a Bachelor of Laws of Ba Ria-Vung Tau University.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Cuu Viet graduated with a PhD in 1986 from the State Institute of Law and Soviet Academy of Sciences, was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2003. He has been teaching and managing at many leading specialized law training universities in Vietnam, such as the Faculty of Law of Hanoi University, the Faculty of Law, Hanoi National University, and the Faculty of Administrative Law of the University. Law of Ho Chi Minh City.
