Ba Ria – Vung Tau University and Dongshin University completed 5 days of cultural exchange and volunteer activities

From January 9th to 13th, 2018, the group of lecturers and students from Dongshin University of Korea visited Ba Ria - Vung Tau University for cultural exchange and volunteer activities. This trip lasted only 5 days but it is a useful and enjoyable journey for both teachers and students of the two universities, bringing a lot of fun, laughter to the children in remote areas; as well as providing Korean language students with opportunities to interact with native speakers, helps them improve their Korean communication skills.
In addition to the cultural exchanges between students of two universities and free haircuts in 2016, Dongshin volunteers group carry out more activities such as optometry and give glasses-free activities for teachers and students, including ethnic minority schools, in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. For two consecutive days, from 9th to 10th January, all the activities were organized in Ba Ria - Vung Tau University. Cadres, lecturers and students all over the school, especially the students of Korean Language Major, are very excited to participate. The Korean Language Major's students are also the active translators, support Dongshin group in the process of activities. On January 11th, Dongshin and 10 BVU students went to ethnic minority boarding school in Chau Duc district. On 12th January, volunteer group went to Long Son 2 Primary School, continued the cultural exchanges, free haircut, optometry and, bringing joy to pupils in remote areas.
During the five days of volunteering, Dongshin group has measured sight and gave free eye glasses for more than 200 people, free cutting hair for about 150 people. This number is not too big, but contains a lot of great significance, bring joy on the occasion of new year for students in the two schools as well as Ba Ria – Vung Tau students. The members of the volunteer group from far Korea, do not afraid to work hard, came to the most remote places to bring joy to the students, that is very admirable.
This is the second time Dongshin University Volunteer Group came to Vung Tau City, came to Ba Ria - Vung Tau University to create more intimate connection between the two universities, as a bridge for cultural exchanges. In the upcoming years, new opportunities for cooperation will be opened for the two universities.
